As a thriving local business, Bruton Swimmers is keen to ensure that our business has a positive impact on the local community and our town.
With over 200 pupils a week attending our classes, we are conscious that business could be generating a lot of extra additional car trips and we are keen to encourage our customers to consider alternative ways of arriving to their swimming lessons such as walking, cycling and scooting. The added benefit will be that pupils will arrive already warmed up which has huge benefits for their readiness to learn.
We are therefore delighted to announce our initiative to help encourage people to leave their car at home. Children will gain points every time they walk, cycle or scoot to their lesson and at the end of each term the points will be added up. These will then be transferred into either a monetary donation to a swimming charity helping those less fortunate than ourselves to learn to swim, or be transferred into equipment donation to a similar cause.
For those that live outside of Bruton who are keen to take part, alternatives such as park and stride from one of the town's car parks will be allowed.
The added benefit of this initiative is that it will ease parking problems at the school and in neighbouring roads, helping to keep the local community in support of our business.
